I have a problem with my car audio being quieter after i installed a 5 channel amp to power 4 door speakers and 1 sub. I am only using one hi level input for the signal tapping into the rear left speaker output coming from the factory headunit. Is this the cause of bad quality and quiet levels?

You have to use left and right signals, otherwise the amp will only amplify half the radio's output. Also check the Gain setting.
